Joining
Who Can Join?
Membership is open to Licenced Amateur radio operators.
Can a non-licensed operator join?
Non-Licenced may be considered to join the group. They can play an active part in the group. Normally a member who is not licenced may go on to get their Licence.
As a Foundation Licence holder, you can operate a low power checkpoint or under the guidance of a full licence holder, you could run the Control.
What does the group expect from its members?
Should attend at least 2 of the events throughout the year. They should have their own equipment (Licence Operators only).
Central Lancashire does have a limit amount of equipment which may be loan to members for a short time.
What do you get out of being a member of the group?
You will be able to improve your operating procedure, (It can be a scary time when you first start to operate on the air, this in time will make you feel a lot more at ease when passing on messages).
You will be able to ask questions to other members of the group whether it be a general question on procedures or on building your own equipment. There is always someone in the group who will be willing to help.
